Net zero carbon quick win grants

Net Zero Carbon Quick Wins grants are available to support practical projects that help churches and church halls reduce energy use, lower carbon emissions and move towards the Church of England’s commitment to net zero carbon by 2030.

The fund is intended for church buildings and church halls where activities are taking place in a building owned by part of the Church of England.

To be eligible, the building must normally:

  • have completed its most recent Energy Footprint Tool submission
  • be registered with A Rocha UK’s Eco Church scheme
  • be a church or church hall owned by part of the Church of England
  • have, or be seeking, the relevant permissions for the proposed works, such as faculty, List A or List B permission where required
  • be proposing works that reduce energy use, reduce carbon emissions, or help the building move away from oil or gas heating

Eligible projects may include LED lighting, lighting controls, draught-proofing, insulation, improved heating controls, zoning, smart meters, under-pew heating, infra-red radiant heating, heated cushions, heat pumps, electrical upgrades to enable low carbon heating, or other works that form part of a wider plan to reduce the building’s carbon emissions.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available for eligible projects.
