Clergy House – Easter Emergency Guidance 2026

The diocesan office is closed for the Easter period from Good Friday, 3 April until Tuesday, 7 April 2026. On Maundy Thursday, 2 April and Tuesday, 7 April, please note that the Property team will be working with a reduced number of staff. As a result, there may be delays in responding to enquiries or requests during these dates.

Should you require any housing assistance during this period, we have created an emergency list of contractors which may be helpful.  All these contractors have generously offered to provide cover and have instructions to make safe in the first instance. The list indicates when they are available as you should note that they are not all available all of the time.

If you have an emergency during the Easter period, please follow these steps:

  • If you can smell gas, please call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111999
  • If you have an unexpected power cut please call freephone 105 this will put you through to your network operator’s emergency number
  • For water supply emergencies such as water outages please call 0345 600 4 600
  • If you have a broken lock one of the general maintenance contractors can be contacted in the first instance.

For all other emergencies:

  • Contact an appropriate contractor from the list and explain you are housed by the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
  • Explain the issue.
  • The contractor will then assess the urgency and either agree a call out or offer advice over the phone and/or schedule a call out at an appropriate time.
  • Report Issue onto Fixflo.
  • Email the Property Helpdesk to let us know what you have arranged: Property.Helpdesk@bathwells.anglican.org

If you cannot find a contractor local to you, then select one that is the nearest main town, or you can source your own. Unfortunately this is not a free service, so please be mindful of the increased expenditure. If you are having problems reporting a non-urgent issue on the Fixflo App, please report it via the FixFlo website, the information about this can be found below.
