St John's Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Reverend Andrew Avramenko as its new Chaplain. Andrew will join the charity on 10 August 2026, succeeding Reverend Jacky Wise, who has served St John's Foundation since January 2020.
As Chaplain, Andrew will lead worship at the Chapel of St Michael's Within in Bath city centre and at the historic Magdalen Chapel in Holloway. Andrew will also play an important role in supporting St John’s almshouse residents. As Chaplain, he will be a familiar presence within the community, offering pastoral support and leading services. Reverend Roger Driver, Trustee, at St John's Foundation, said, "We are delighted to welcome Andrew to St John's Foundation. Chaplaincy has been part of the fabric of St John's for many years and remains an important part of who we are today. For many residents, the Chaplain is a familiar face, a trusted listener and a source of comfort and support. We are looking forward to Andrew becoming part of our community and continuing this important tradition of care."
St John’s would also like to thank Reverend Jacky Wise for her dedicated service over the past six and a half years. During her time with the charity, Jacky has played a significant role, supporting residents, leading worship and helping to strengthen the community spirit that makes St John's such a special place.
