Education Spring Term Report

It's been a very busy Spring term for our 182 church schools and the Education team here in Bath and Wells, and we'd like to share a round up with you, so here is our school report!

  • Over 6000 children and adults joined our third online Collective Worship with Bishop Michael and the Education team. During the worship, we consider prayer and the Lord’s Prayer, using the song The Lord’s Prayer from Worship for Everyone.   • 59 people from 27 different schools attended SIAMS cycle training this term. All our schools have been invited to a specific training event across the academic year that is relevant to where they are in their SIAMS journey.
  • 120 people attended our School Leaders and Parish Partner conference titled Flourishing Together: Seeking Justice, Sharing Hope with keynote speaker, Sean Harris from Tees Valley Education. Read the full story here.
  • 21 clerks attended our clerk’s forum.44 foundation governors attended the Foundation Governor Forum.
  • 13 Foundation Trustees representing 12 Multi Academy Trusts attended our Trustees Forum.
  • 7 SIAMS inspections were completed during the Spring Term. Congratulations to Norton Fitzwarren Church School, St Andrew’s Church of England Junior School in Burnham-on-Sea, Axbridge Church of England First School, Two Rivers Church of England Primary School, King Ina Church of England Academy, Knights Templar Community Church School and Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School in Taunton on their recent inspections. 

And looking forward, we have our RE Conference on 8 May 2026 with Stephen Pett as this year's keynote speaker.  The topic is 'Teaching religious and non-religious worldviews: exploring knowledge, skills and self'.
